I enjoy creating experiential events and spaces more than any other medium. I fill this creative bucket mostly from my work in youth and professional theatre, though I've worked on a number of other projects.Experiences
Theatre
I’ve been a Technical Director at Hawken School in Cleveland, OH for 5 years. Our 2025 production of Aladdin involved a number of moving parts, including a 20-foot welded steel magic carpet rig, an actuated Cave of Wonders door, and a glowing, 3-D printed Jafar staff.
The Shed
A 72-hour, rapidly-prototyped exhibit at supermajor fighting-game tournament Get on My Level Forever in Toronto, Canada. This multimedia, interactive exhibit brought nearly 1,000 visitors into the world of Kneemaster12, a competitive Super Smash Bros. player ripped from the in-person competitive scene during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kneemaster12 played online from the only internet connection available to him - the wooded, work shed in his Blue Ridge Mountain plant nursery.
Modular XPS foam panels, PVC, printed drops, custom-programmed Kneemaster12 .iso
Hawken Gaga Pit
One of my all-time favorite project mentorships. A Gaga (Touch-Touch; Hebrew: גע גע) Pit designed and fundraised completely by three of my students. Required significant training of students in shop tools, foundations, leveling, building code, and project management.
Digital Museum
I founded an initiative to digitally preserve and present prized specimens from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History during my time working in the Archaeology Department. Photogrammetry techniques from the fields of Civil Engineering, Surveying, and Paleontology were applied to create a new workflow. The collection has since expanded to nearly 500 artifacts.
Presented at the 2019 Archaeology Institute of American Annual Meeting, San Diego, CA

Fab Play Institute
I am a Co-organizer and Lead Instructor for Hawken School’s annual Fab Player Maker Educator Institute, a week-long conference and symposium for makerspace educators, fabricators, and artists. I primarily instruct in 3-D CAD and fabrication, especially within the scope of CNC routing, 3-D printing, and metal casting. I also instruct in analog circuits and microcontrollers.
Forest Preschool
I was contracted to build two outdoor classrooms for Hawken School’s new Early Childhood Forest Program. These open-air decks needed to blend seamlessly and naturally into the school’s wooded property.
